Christian Heuss is Head of Communication and Knowledge Exchange for SOR4D
The SNSF appointed Christian Heuss as Head of Communication and Knowledge Exchange for the SOR4D Programme.
In July, the SOR4D supervisory body appointed Christian Heuss as Head of Communication and Knowledge Exchange for the joint SDC/SNSF programme SOR4D. Christian Heuss has a scientific background in neuroscience and a university education in science communication. He worked for over 10 years as a science journalist and head of department at Swiss Radio SRF before heading up communications at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) and the Swiss NGO SolidarMed.
As part of these activities, he became familiar with numerous projects in the Global South and worked with project partners on the ground in Tanzania, Côte d'Ivoire, Mozambique, Chad, Zambia, Laos, Zimbabwe and other countries.
In 2023, he founded his own communications agency in Basel with clients such as the Swiss Alliance for Food Security (Sufosec), NRP 82 and the University of Basel.
As part of SOR4D, Christian Heuss will promote the exchange of knowledge and dialog between research, the media and the public. This also includes events, science communication training and social media activities.
